Advice on applying to another college if attending a revoked one

Our colleagues at Student Recruitment International have created a very handy advice post specifically for students seeking entry to another college after your current college has had their Tier 4 License revoked by UKVI.

Here are a few guidelines:

In order to stand a 95% chance of being accepted into a Highly Trusted Tier 4 college as a student coming from an institution that has had its tier 4 license revoked, you absolutely MUST be able to provide the following documents for your interview at chosen college:

  • Your Passport or copy of if it is with home office
  • Copy of all UK visas you have ever been issued
  • Recent English test results / English language proficiency Level (from a recognised test agency)
  • Copy of all CAS letters issued
  • Academic Progression if no results from exams have been received or you have not yet taken exams
  • Personal statement (why you want to study at the college & the course)
  • All Educational qualifications and transcripts
  • Recent CV/Resume
  • 2 Reference letters
  • Recent Bank statement covering the 28 day requirement by UKVI

Be prepared to be interviewed thoroughly by any Admissions or Compliance staff.  Again, these colleges have worked hard to maintain their Tier 4 license and will not jeopardise it by taking a chance with a high risk student.

PLEASE NOTE:  Reputable Highly Trusted Tier 4 colleges DO NOT SELL C.A.S -(Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) !!

If one of your questions to a reputable college/university is 'how much is your CAS ?', your application will not be taken seriously.

If you are applying to a college for and education, you are paying not only for tuition, but an overall experience at the college.  You are expected to attend classes as per your time-table.

Reputable colleges will report you to UKVI if you do not show up for your classes or are found working when you are not entitled to.

College got their Tier 4 License revoked - read on

IF YOUR COLLEGE HAS HAD THEIR TIER 4 LICENSE REVOKED

  • Students with applications outstanding: they will be given a period of time to find a new sponsor and the application is kept on hold.
  • Students with leave at the institution: in most cases they will have their leave curtailed down to 60 days (starting from the date of notification by the Home Office) in which to find a new sponsor.
  • Students overseas who have not yet travelled: will have their visa cancelled. If the student does travel to the UK they will be refused entry.
  •  Students seeking a refund of any fees paid to their college or university: will need to discuss this with their educational institution; the Home Office cannot become involved in these discussions as it is a contractual issue between an individual and their education provider.
