Within this last week, the UKBA has suspended several colleges licenses AND downgraded others to B rating, which means they are no longer a Highly Trusted Sponsor.
This may mean that the downgraded colleges can have their license suspended or withdrawn shortly.
If your college is among one of these, this has an effect on you, your course and your student visa. Especially if you will be needing to renew or your CAS letter.
For assistance or further information on how this affects you, your work permission, your family and your stay in the UK please contact us as soon as possible.

Asylum Cases / Overstayers
Please be aware that the LEGACY programme is closing.
If you have been refused asylum before 2007 and are still in the UK and have not had a decision from the UK, or have not made an application under Legacy to remain please contact us immediately.
In July 2006, the Home Secretary announced that there was an asylum "legacy" of around 450,000 cases, and the UK Border Agency (UKBA) would clear this legacy within 5 years (to 2011). To deal with these legacy cases, the UKBA have established a separate directorate – the legacy directorate.
What is a legacy case?
A legacy case is any case where all of the following apply:
- there has been a claim for asylum;
- the Home Office records indicate that the case has not been concluded;
- the case is not being dealt with by the New Asylum Model (NAM).
If you have been refused asylum before 2007 and are still in the UK and have not had a decision from the UK, or have not made an application under Legacy to remain please contact us immediately.

Update on UK Student Visas/Tier 4
The United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) is the department responsible for immigration law. The immigration law is published in a document called the Immigration rules and can be found under law and policy on the UKBA web site.
Colleges and Universities have to apply for a license (Sponsorship license) and for students it’s called a Tier 4 sponsorship license. UKBA then visit the college or University and give it a ‘rating ‘ with Highly trusted being the highest rating, followed by ‘A’ rating and ‘B’ rating.
FROM APRIL 2012 ONLY HIGHLY TRUSTED COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES WILL BE ABLE TO SPONSOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS……IT IS VITAL THEREFORE THAT YOU CHOOSE A REPUTABLE COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY THAT WILL STAY IN BUSINESS AFTER THIS IMPORTANT CHANGE.
NB: Even Highly Trusted colleges and Universities can have their Highly Trusted status taken away, so we encourage all students who are choosing to study at a college rather than at a University to fully research the college, its academic record, and its reputation.
Did you know that some publicly funded colleges can run courses with a work placement PLUS give you 10 hours a week work permission?
Did you know that you cannot work at all if you study at a private college?
Did you know that you can work 20 hours a week if studying at a University?
